Maat was an ancient Egyptian Goddess of law, order, truth, and justice. With her feather of truth she weighed the souls of all who came to her subterranean Hall of Judgment. She would place her plume on her scales opposite the heart of the deceased. If the scales balanced, the deceased could feast with deities and spirits of the dead; if the heart was heavy, the deceased was turned over to Ahemait (Underworld Goddess who is part hippopotamus, part lion, part crocodile) to be devoured.
Maat has come with her feather of truth to assist you in bringing Justice into your life. Are you in a situation that seems unfair, unjust, unreasonable? Have you used integrity, yet another or others have not, and now you are wounded and seek Justice? Have you not been honest in your words, your deeds, your actions? Are you being unjust to others? To yourself? Perhaps your standards are so rigid that you find them impossible to meet and continually need to rebel? Do you have an inner judge who condemns you for any infractions in his/her rule? Now is the time to look at your life and invite justice in. Now is the time to repay all debts, to strike a fair and reasonable balance in all your dealings. Maat says that the way to wholeness for you lies in accepting the loving nature of justice which seeks to right all wrongs by administering the lessons needed.

Maeve, whose name means “intoxicating,” was associated with Ireland and represented the land’s sovereignty and its magical center, Tara. Over time she became diminished to Maeve, the Queen, who could outrun horses, confer with birds, and bring men into the heat of desire with a mere look. In the Irish epic the ‘Tain Bo Cuillaigne’, Maeve argues with her king over who has the most wealth, since in Celtic custom the wealthier one of the partnership was the ruler. He won because he had a magical bull. She decided to steal a magical red bull for herself. After much battle and bloodshed, Maeve won the red bull. However, when the two bulls met, they ripped each other to shreds.
Maeve strides boldly into your life to challenge you with the task of taking responsibility for your life. It is time for you to become “queen of your domain” by becoming aware of, then accountable for, all that you do, all that you are, all that you believe.
Are there places within you that seem as uncertain as uncharted waters? Do you seem to live your life on “automatic” as if you’ve been programmed by someone else? Perhaps you have been drifting along in a particular situation, instead of finding out if this is the best place for you. Or you are not willing to own your pieces, to acknowledge what you have done to help create the situation or relationship you are now in.
Maeve is here to remind you that the way to wholeness is by taking responsibility, by acknowledging where you are, who you are, what you are, can you create something different.

You may soon find yourself drawn into a situation in which you feel compelled to care for and protect someone who is in need of help. This may be a person or a pet that has recently suffered some kind of trauma and is suffering from anxiety or depression. Your love and attention will help them heal and simultaneously you will subconsciously heal an aspect of yourself that is also yearning to be nurtured. You will heal an emotional trauma you experienced in the past, possibly in your childhood, or it may even stem from a past life. There is no need to recollect the past or try to figure anything out. Remember that we each mirror one another and self-healing automatically occurs when we care for another’s needs.

Animal Spirit Messengers: Cicada ~ Kingfisher ~ Elephant
Cicada ~ Cycles ~ Earth
Kin Essence: Every experience has its place in shaping your unique voice
The cicada is the ultimate representation of the cycles of life, teaching us the importance of each stage of life that we are gifted with. In their infancy, their eggs are protected from the outside world, hidden away in the safest place their mother can manifest. Upon becoming a nymph, these creatures move towards the ground, close to where their mothers lay them, and dig burrows into the soil, creating chambers in which they can often dwell for up to 17 years.
This is symbolic of the time in our lives in which we live simply as children, learning how to use out basic instincts to survive, whilst feeling protected and choosing to live more in the moment, and drawing on key basics to grow and thrive. With this sense of protection and security deep down in the soil, they burrow and build a sacred space for themselves, feeding on the sap from the roots of their tree.
When they reach their final stages of nymphalid instar, they are strong and old enough to create a tunnel up and out of their dwelling, allowing them to shed their skins on a nearby plant and emerge as an adult cicada, leaving the shell or skin casing behind.
This stage is representative of the shedding of our status as children and entering into adulthood and independence. This stage is where the cicada begins to live in the trees, choosing to reproduce, and attract their tribe around them through their vibrational force and song.
The cicada is our reminder that all the stages of our life hold a significant place in determining the life we are meant to lead, and that everything we go through is just a phase. With each stage come huge inner and outer lessons about our environment and ourselves, shaping us to become who we are as individuals. These stages also remind us that we are all choosing to live out our cycles in our own ways. The bigger picture is that our mission in life is to continue moving through each cycle, taking with us as much learning and growth as possible.
Kingfisher ~ Peace ~ Air
Kin Essence: When we surrender something of importance we gain greater perspective
Despite their name, many kingfishers actually live away from water, and although competent at fishing, they prefer to eat insects and invertebrates even when water and fish are plentiful.
Kingfishers burrow and nest in the ground or in tree cavities. As part of the courting ritual, the male will bring the female the gift of a fish, which she can accept or decline. This offer of peace and love shows just how much we have to personally surrender in order to gain something greater.
Kingfishers have large heads with long, sharp and pointed bills, as well as stumpy legs and tails. These proportional traits can be seen as the mind being the focal point of our wellbeing. This, along with their exceptional vision, can be seen as a bird whose strengths lie in their ability to see things from a deeper perspective and are able to react based on this knowing. Kingfisher’s plumage is predominantly blue and green tones, with these colors representing trust, honesty, spiritual perspective, growth, renewal, and need for peacekeeping.
A long time symbol for peace and prosperity, the kingfisher invites us to harness the power of our mind to determine what it is that brings us greater inner peace, and understanding that this practice will in turn play a huge role in our ability to communicate and radiate this outwards into our physical world. Our strength lies in our ability to see great depths and to use our strong influence or words for greater cause.
Elephant ~ Compassion ~ Air
Kin Essence: Approach all with love, empathy, and understanding.
Elephants are the largest terrestrial animals remaining on earth, and as such, humans have an affinity for their gracefulness and grandeur. Living for up to 70 years, elephants have a lengthy childhood and adolescent stage of life before maturing at around 17 years of age. Young calves will remain with their mothers until adulthood, and are largely dependent until age three.
Elephants possess a sacred and special gift for communicating with each other. They use all of their senses to communicate and are lovingly affectionate and empathetic towards one another. They have a great sense of self-awareness and coexist peacefully with many other herbivores. Their social groups consist of many different family groups who come together socially, usually lead by the matriarch. When travelling, the young calves can be witnessed holding onto the tails of the adult in front, a clear indication of their connection to one another and need for security.
As elephant’s large ears not only have extraordinary hearing powers but are also filled with capillaries that release excess body heat into the environment. Their trunks are the most versatile appendages on the planet, being used for drinking, eating, communicating, smelling, touching and even snorkeling!
The elephant is a great symbol of presence, that although they are large and intimidating physically, they exude peace and compassion amongst the animal community. When threatened, they can stand their ground and are powerful forces to be reckoned with; however, it is in their connection to the earth, their innate intelligence, and their social and family groups that makes them great teachers of the importance of compassion and consideration for all.
Additional Guidance Messages: Right Order ~ Gifted
Right Order: Eventually, everything finds its right place and proper order in life. This card is about creating proper order in your physical environment. The world around us has a very strong effect on our emotional and energetic well-being. Often, our inner environment is symbolically reflected through our outer environment.
It’s time to put things in their proper place and create right order in your physical world. Roll up your sleeves and take a weekend to begin cleaning out the closets. Start to sort what you what you would like to keep and what needs to go. Take care of any paperwork, banking, or bookkeeping you may have been putting off for later. Tidy your garage or storage spaces. Re-arrange one of your rooms. Vacuum the blinds or dust in the corners. Take a serious look at any space or job you think you may have neglected lately and start to deal with it. It’s time to give your physical space an energetic shift.
The very act of organizing our clutter is a powerful way to symbolically cleanse and clean out our inner emotional and energetic closet. It sends a powerful message out to the cosmos that you are ready to take care of your business; willing to do whatever needs to be done, open to allowing the new to flow in your life, and keen to have a fresh start. Get ready to release stagnant energy and old emotional patterns. The new is on its way in.
You will feel lighter, free of older burdens, and more accepting of what Spirit brings your way. By putting your physical space in its right and proper order, you are doing the same for your inner space too. You might find yourself quite surprised and delighted with the results.
Gifted: This card is a reminder that you are most certainly talented, gifted, and skilled in a very special way. It’s time to stop looking outside and comparing yourself to others. Your gifts were never intended to function or work exactly the same as another person’s gift. By looking at how others are more gifted, or better than you, you are unintentionally sending energy out to the Universe which says you are less than. This action is the very thing that is blocking your gifts from developing to their fullest potential. You cannot compare yourself to anyone else. If you see greatness in someone else, it is because you hold the quality of greatness within you. That is how the world mirrors ourselves for us, by seeing ourselves in others.
This card can also come if you are experiencing fear or apprehension about sharing your gifts with the world. Underlying this fear are beliefs and doubts about whether you are enough, or good enough. And Spirit is asking you to start addressing those beliefs immediately. Sometimes our fear of sharing our gift is the very thing that blocks us from discovering how we can best us it in service to others.
In either case, the Gifted card comes because you are doubting yourself; questioning who you are as a person or whether you have anything of value to give. Your unique gifts are very needed here on the planet. Spirit is asking that you place your doubts aside and start to cultivate self-worth and personal value. You were given certain gifts, because only you could bring them to the world in the way you do. Trust your soul’s wisdom in choosing the path you are on, and the gifts you are here to give.

Spirit Messages: Shifting ~ Up ~ Divinity
Shifting – Our personal and spiritual growth occurs in a series of rhythms and patterns. When we reach a certain level of experience and understanding, life will move into a holding pattern as we master it. Things will fall into a steady, reliable pattern. We come to know what to expect and how things are going to be. And because we humans are creatures of comfort and habit, we usually enjoy hanging out on the plateau where things are familiar and reliable.
This card has come to you today because you are either about to enter into or you are already are in, one of those great shifts. It is a necessary part of your growth and higher learning. You are moving to a new level of consciousness and awareness. In order for this to happen, some of the old ways of life and of being, must fall away to make more room for the new.
You may find yourself changing jobs or careers. Old friends or relationships may drift away as new people enter your life. You may move to a new home or have a sudden change in finances. On an energetic level, your consciousness is opening to the hidden wounds you carry. More than likely you are feeling very far out of your comfort zone, possibly even experiencing situational depression.
This shift is vital and necessary. Remain as calm as you can while the earth shakes under feet. You will find yourself quite pleased with this new consciousness and way of being, once this shift is complete. In the meantime, try to stay open as these changes occur. It may not feel comfortable, but you will come through this as a more evolved and stable person.
Up – Time to life your eyes off the ground and start looking up toward the heavens. Keeping YOU down and trying to be small isn’t doing anyone any favors. This world needs you – the REAL you. Low self-esteem and self-worth is impeding your perception of whom and what you really are. It is also affecting your ability to put yourself out into the world. There is a whole other life, waiting inside you, crying to be lived. The only thing standing in your way is you.
The Universe sees you and knows you as a Divine spark of the All. They are calling you now to begin embracing that aspect of yourself too. Stand up, hold your head up, and begin looking at the ways in which you are dis-empowering yourself. It’s time to start building your own personal sense of value and your own sense of worth. Spirit knows this is not an easy task, which is why they have brought you this message today.
Every time you feel you are not enough, look up to the heavens and know the entire Cosmos is supporting you on this. When you see the sky above you, let that be your reminder that you are more than enough. You are God/Goddess incarnated. And the only one who can give you value and a sense of worth is you.
There is nothing your guides and angels want more than to see you step in to the truth of who you really are. Start looking to the good within you, the value you actually do have, and the difference you really do make. Start to see yourself as the Universe sees you. Human is what you are wearing on the outside. Inside, you are a brilliant Light of Divine Source. Remember who you are.
You are a beautiful, wise, and loving soul who has braved the perils and difficulty of incarnation to be here on Earth and in service to humanity. You uplift the energy and consciousness of others through the work that you do, whether you are aware of it or not. There are billions of souls residing on the planet at this time, yet only a small number of them are to help humanity evolve to its fullest potential – and you are one of those souls. Who you are, is a gift to this world. Even at the best of times it can be difficult to remember this; especially when being human feels so real.
Your connection to Spirit is much stronger than you think. You are a living, breathing, channel of the Divine. It moves through you in all that you do. Cardinal ~ Passion ~ Fire
Kin Essence: Tell your story with pride to attract your tribe
Cardinal birds are known for their territorial nature and elaborate nest construction, which the male and female birds build together to provide a safe and comfortable home for their chicks. Their passionate, musical calls and songs connect us with feelings of peace and joy. During courtship, the males often collect offerings of seed for their females and feed them beak-to-beak.
Male cardinals sport the vibrant plumage of bold red tones, while the females are usually fawn or grey. Their crested heads and mask-like facial markings add to their beauty and almost regal-like stature. Cardinals are monogamous birds who sing their love songs to each other and even perform duets together, demonstrating their love and passion. The males also mark their territories with song, which is a true example of how a seemingly innocent (but beautiful) gift can create huge impact and help us to stand out and hold space for others.
Crimson red is the color of passion, power, confidence, and strength. Therefore, we can draw upon this standout feature and learn that in order to lead a life full of passion, we must draw on our own inner strength, confidence, and sexuality to excite and energize us to move forward by doing the things that really make us feel alive. Cardinals teach us to examine what we really love about our lives, and to then nurture and defend what we hold most dear. It is here we can see what drives us and what is really important to us, thus giving insight into what work we feel called to do in this lifetime.
Flamingo ~ Community ~ Water
Kin Essence: I serve with my love, affection and attention
Flamingos are very social birds, living in colonies with populations that number in the thousands. They congregate to not only feed together and pair up for mating, but also to find safety from predators. Once their babies are just a few weeks old, they coordinate a kind of childcare group so that most of the adults can wander further to feed and provide more food for their growing chicks. Flamingos will travel long distances, migrate to find abundant sources of food, and are usually found in the same areas year after year.
Tradition is important to the flamingo. When courting, they perform synchronized displays (like learnt and rehearsed dances) to attract a mate. Flamingos are born with pale grey feathers, but through the constant consumption of particular beta-carotene rich foods in their diet (namely crustaceans like shrimp, algae and other plants), this pigment is processed into fat and then deposited through to new feather growth, resulting in a full set of pink-toned feathers.
Pink is a color that represents love, compassion, and nurturing, which is at the core of what drives these beautiful birds in life. Through their physical and behavioral attributes, these water birds teach us to connect with our community, ask for help if we need it, and offer the gift of our time and service to the people we love.

Divine Guiding Presence: Changing Woman
Changing Woman is perhaps the most revered of deities among the Native Americans of the southwestern United States. She is a wholly benevolent figure, for it is Changing Woman who give the people their abundance and who provides the teachings that allow them to live in harmony with all things. In the initiation ceremony of Navajo women, the initiate takes in the power of Changing Woman so that she might learn the values of love, hospitality, and generosity and know that she herself is a source of food and harmony. Changing Woman received her name because she can change at will from a baby to a girl to a young woman to an old woman and then back again. Very much alive today, she is a tremendously nourishing goddess who teaches the wisdom of nature and the cycles of birth and death.

Overarching Guidance ~ Bear
Bear Symbology: healing ~ divinity ~ invulnerability
The Bear has symbolized divinity and healing in many cultures. The Ainu people of the northern islands of Japan believed that the bear was a mountain god; in India, bears are believed to prevent disease (children are allowed to ride on a bear’s back to avoid sickness); and among the Finno-Ugric peoples, the bear was the god of heaven. The bear has figured prominently among Native American peoples, who regarded it as a spirit helper.
This painting of a bear woman dancing with a rattle recalls the Pawnee Indian story of Bear Medicine Woman, in which a girl born with a bear spirit has the power to heal.

Crow Symbology: renewal ~ transformation ~ magic ~ abundance
Like the raven, with which is it often synonymous, the crow wields powerful magic. In Native American myths the crow restores order to the heavens, a Sioux belief links the crow to abundance and prosperity. One legend tells of a white crow that warns the buffalo every time hunters approach. This leads to hunger and starvation, and the crow is eventually captured by the hunters and thrown into a fire. But it escapes before being completely burned, being only blackened by the flames; black becomes its permanent color. As the crow flies, it promises never to warn the buffalo of approaching hunters again. The crow is thus a kind of phoenix that rises from the ashes, symbolizing renewal, transformation, and the promise of abundance.
Rabbit Symbology: power ~ abundance ~ heroism ~ seasons ~ cycle of life
In the Chinese zodiac, the rabbit is the most propitious sign; those born under the rabbit are thought to have considerable power. In many cultures, the rabbit is a lunar creature with feminine energies whose outline can be seen in the face of the full moon. Many Native American rabbit myths tell of the hare returning the sun to the sky and restoring warmth, the patterns of day and night and the seasons, and prosperity.
The rabbit in this painting is Kaltes, a moon goddess venerated by the Ugric peoples of western Siberia. Although this goddess can assume many forms, the hare is sacred to her.
Crocodile Symbology: opportunity ~ risk ~ fertility ~ life
Alligators and crocodiles are creatures of the water, particularly fecund swampland, which suggests both fertility and the feminine principle of life and birth. They have often been associated with dragons, which appear in myths and legends as wily guardians of treasures and keepers of wisdom. Stories that have revolved around encounters with these reptiles have often involved a new opportunity, but one that always carries significant risks.
As with many mythological reptiles, the crocodile in this painting appears wise, menacing and somewhat indolent.

Change of Mind – This card comes when we are in the process of moving into a higher level of cognitive functioning. This is a direct effect of the shifting vibrational frequencies on the planet. Those who are ready for these new frequencies will begin to notice changes in their physical and energetic processes. The card signifies a shifting of your conscious functioning. My Wisdom Story
“My mother had three miscarriages before I was born. During her pregnancy with me, she was anxious, and when I was young, she was a hesitant, overprotective mother, constantly worrying about my getting sick or into an accident. She clung to rationality as if her life depended on it. But her endless lists of pros and cons paralyzed her. They also made my father impatient and his actions impetuous, which usually resulted in financially risky decisions, and an even more anxious mother.
I was close to my parents and could sense their thoughts and feelings as if they were my own. As I matured, I saw how their ways of coping with life were causing them pain and frustration. When it came to decision-making, the opposing strategies of over-rationality and impulsivity seemed equally unhelpful. Longing to resolve their unrest, I sought alternative way of accessing truth and knowing.
I became a student of Intuition, reading books on ESP, using oracle decks and training my psychic abilities. But when I discovered the deep, vast world of astrology, a light went on. I couldn’t get enough. After obsessively studying natal charts, I learned about the world of transits, and my prayers were answered. Finally I had a way of reading the future and helping people cope with anxiety and life’s uncertainties. My career took off, and eventually astrology took over my life. To do anything or guide anyone, I needed the stars’ blessing. I became attached to the money, status and security brought by my success and, over time, I became increasingly paranoid and out of touch with my Intuition.
When I dismissed my own hunches about my beloved mother’s health because the stars said otherwise, and she got sick, I was overwhelmed with shame and guilt. How could I have drifted so far from my own inner knowing? That’s when it hit me. Life was uncertain. No matter how skilled I was, or how accurate astrology was, I could not control Life or rescue the people I loved from the unknown.

I come to remind you of that still voice within that connects you to all of life. Your Intuition is one of your greatest gifts. Trust it. We live in a world that is obsessed with reason. My Wisdom Story
“When I was just a toddler, several monks appeared at our door. After vigorous testing, I was recognized as the incarnation of a spiritual master. My parents were not religious people. They were shocked, but too subservient and cowardly to fight for me. I’ll never forget crying as I was taken away from my mother.
For one year, I was bathed in love and attention by my appointed teacher. I loved him so much. He always showed me pictures of my parents, reminding me of our connection. But one day our monastery was brutally attacked by hostile soldiers who hated our people. Me beloved teacher was killed.
Before I knew what had happened, I was swept up into the arms of another monk. We escaped through the mountains and arrived in another monastery. Though well cared for, I was terribly jumpy and nervous. I had trouble focusing on my studies. It was hard to trust anyone. My mind and heart understood I was safe, but my body didn’t. It was always on guard and desperate to release its agitation.
Violence wasn’t an option, so my mind took over. I became obsessed with moving up the ranks in the monastery, and constantly reminded myself that I was special because I was chosen so early. I was determined to be the first of my peers to awaken. To my peers, I seemed fearless, disciplined and precocious. But deep down, I was traumatized.
Thankfully, my new teacher saw the terror in me and understood the shock I’d been through. He also knew that shock would be one of my greatest teachers. One day it would help me release the false security of the ego, accept the certainty of death, and awaken to Oneness. But he also wisely knew I was too young to understand this. Instead of a lecture, he gave me a paintbrush, a canvas, and he freedom to do whatever I wanted.
His instruction was simple: “Follow your heart.” The first stroke felt like jumping off a cliff. But soon I was filling the canvas with colors and symbols unlike anything seen before. My body relaxed, I made friends and lost interest in competition. At first I believed I was creating something new through the art. But now I know I am only rediscovering and retracing an eternal truth. There is no need to bring something new to the canvas, only to unveil the canvas to itself.”
My Gift to You
I am not here to lead you; I am here to Initiate you. It is time to step off the beaten track, release everything you’ve ever been taught, and embrace an entirely new way of being. Though you may stand upon the shoulders of others, in the end, only you can take the leap. There is no safety net. No way to avoid fear. If you want to transcend fear, move through it. Honor your creative impulses, wherever they take you. Let your awe-filled heart lead you back to your own heart. Good fortune is inevitable when you trust the love inside of you. If you do have a need to compete, do not compete with others. Funnel your competitive urges into your own creativity. And soon you will find competition replaced by deeply fulfilling collaboration.

Deer – Grace – Earth
Kin Essence – Know when to enter battle or make a subtle retreat
When we call on our initial associations with this creature, we are usually drawn to the visual of the deer standing quietly in the woodland, staring off into the distance, as though in a permanent state of high alert. They ooze a gentle demeanor, treading lightly amongst the terrain, foraging, munching, or running from potential danger or predators.
Although highly sensitive and often fearful, these majestic creatures can also command a strong presence with their amazing horned heads. Like many land mammals, the males can put up a fight when it comes to encountering competition and display overt dominance when thy believe themselves to be a strong candidate for a partner.
Deer teach us about being in tune with our surroundings and to not become complacent in life. Although generally considered as graceful, gentle creatures, deer are also well equipped to handle the many challenges they encounter in their daily lives.
We can see this is reflective within our own lives – this intuitive sense of knowing when something doesn’t sound, feel, or seem right. It’s all about fine-tuning this birthright and discerning between actual threatening situations and general over-sensitivities.
The deer is not just a symbol of physical beauty; more importantly, it shows us that beauty is also about how we carry our energetic bodies and how important it is to connect with energetic beauty in order for it to flow throughout all aspects of life.
Alpaca ~ Curiosity ~ Fire
Kin Essence: Contentment brings desire to learn or explore something new.
Alpacas use their long necks to observe the world with curiosity and caution. Without their unique higher perspective, they would easily fall prey to predators like lions and bears. Having been bred into captivity predominately for their wool, alpacas are slightly different to llama in that they are a bit more temperamental and harder to tame or convert into companion animals, but are still similar in many ways.
These herbivores are social herd animals and live in family groups. Their wooly coat keeps them warm in freezing cold climates and allows them to thrive in high altitude areas. Their only main lines of defense are spitting and kicking; they often draw up stomach acids and project them out to other alpacas as a defense mechanism or to communicate their upset. One of the only animals on earth to create a designated ‘toilet’ area in their territory, alpacas remind us to respect our space, honor what nourishes us, and maintain boundaries in order to take a more unconstrained approach to our own person pursuits.
Alpacas also have a great vocal range, choosing a series of shrieks and whines to alter others to danger, as well as clicking and humming sounds which can be a sign of their contentment and comfort. These animals show us that by simply being present and at peace with our surroundings, we automatically open ourselves up to new possibilities, adventures, and creative exploration, allowing us to be truly available to life and what it has to offer.
Bear ~ Protection ~ Air
Kin Essence: Stand up for what you love and protect the things you work hard for.
Bears are a symbol of loyalty, strength, and protection. Although bears are largely solitary, the females care for, provide for, and fiercely protect their cubs for the first three years of their life.
Adult bears have very few predators due to their natural defenses, using their sheer strength and enormous size to fight off predators. Young cubs are most at risk of being preyed on by larger carnivores, as they are mostly defenseless against bigger animals. The mama bear spirit is loving, nurturing and playful – whilst cautious and on-guard for potential threats.
Bears possess an excellent sense of smell and, despite their large size and awkward gait, they are competent at running, swimming and climbing. With their physical power enabling them to stand up on two back legs (a symbol of leadership and inner strength), they also have the perfect balance of being incredibly nurturing of those they love and being fiercely protective when that love is threatened. Bears teach us the importance of standing up for what we love and always protecting our own worth, the things we work hard for, and the things and people that are most precious to us.

Plant Kingdom Allies: Hypericum ~ Peach Tree ~ Chickpeas
Hypericum: grows rapidly in most gardens. It survives all climates but the most temperate and has provided humankind with wonderful healing gifts capable of relieving many symptoms.
As a homeopathic remedy, it helps release shock and restore a sense of pleasure in life. Hypericum treats nerve injuries and is particularly effective after accidents in which fingers or toes have been crushed. Often blended with Calendula, it can be made into an ointment to soothe and treat wounds of all kinds.
In herbalism hypericum (known as St. John’s Wort) is used for the treatment of depression and mood swings. It also helps regulate PMS and aggressive behavior. Hypericum lifts the spirits and allows the mind clear access to emotions without dropping into despair or depression.
Hypericum is used in aromatherapy to tonify the body and reduce muscle and nerve pain.
Esoteric meaning: Pleasure in all things
Pleasure comes to us when we allow our lives to be easier and more joyful. We can find pleasure in small and simple activities that delight our minds and lighten our hearts. Kin Essence: Taking action is often the only way we can truly motivate ourselves and others
Humans have a relationship with horses that conjures feelings of freedom, devotion, and passion within us all. Despite their immense strength and power, horses are vegetarians and feed on grass, grains and seeds, thus showing us the physical vitality and strength that we can gain by eating natural, plant-based foods. Even though horses are capable of incredible physical feats, it is rarely necessary for them to do so, meaning that they choose their moments to use their power with specific intention and purpose.
The horse’s only natural defense against predators is to run, to move. They help us to channel our own drive, passion, and motivation to get moving toward out goals. Horses naturally become more confident, learning and growing through positive experiences. The horse can teach us that in times of uncertainty, we must use our negative experiences to give us that little nudge from behind in order to move forward into the right direction; that when we are no longer fulfilled by our surroundings, it is an indication that we have been standing still for too long and it is time to move forward.
In life we can see that sometimes we must decide whether to be the workhorse or the show pony, and be at peace with the fact that we might be both! We are reminded to see that putting in the leg work will allow us the opportunity to pursue greener pastures at the other end, and to stop long enough to show the world what we have learnt in our travels.

Renowned for their majestic displays of underwater movement and above water jumps and flips, the dolphin reminds us to incorporate play and fun into every moment of our lives, even when doing essential tasks. Dolphins are social beings that rely on their pod for hunting and safety. Dolphin calves to not reach sexual maturity until at least age five, giving them many years to learn from their mothers and develop playful, child-like habits that will stay with them into adulthood. They communicate using their unique whistling sounds to locate each other and coordinate their hunting plans.
Dolphins draw out our inner child and allow us the opportunity to frolic and play with innocence and a keen sense of wonder. They reflect in us our deep desire to return back to our playful childhood memories, and of how much we love to do things that light us up, choosing passion, freedom, curiosity, and connection over the restraints of responsibility and duty. Kin Essence – Lessen the distractions to lead you to a higher state of consciousness
Closely related to the butterfly, the moth starts its life as larvae; then becomes a caterpillar; before undergoing the epic transformation into a moth as their final stage of life. If the butterfly is a toddler, then the moth is a great-grandmother; wise, worldly, gently and peaceful. They lovingly guide us through our transitions with steadfast confidence and “eyes-wide-open” awareness.
As a master of disguise, the moth uses colors and patterns on it wings to confuse, distract, and warn off predators. Divine Guidance: Butterfly
Butterfly Symbology ~ transformation ~ joy ~ lightness ~ rebirth
The metamorphosis of caterpillar to butterfly embodies the principle of physical and spiritual transformation, and the butterfly lighting upon a flower is the very essence of joy, beauty, and freedom. The butterfly has been symbolic of the soul, conjugal bliss, and change and joy. In early Minoan and Mycenaean cultures, the butterfly goddess was a key emblem, symbolizing new life after death.
In this painting, the woman’s face emerging from the chrysalis-like womb suggests transformation and rebirth. The upper face of the butterfly body resembles the Great Mother, a Madonna, which reinforces the idea of spiritual birth and new life.

Wolf Symbology: creation ~ healing ~ purification
Although portrayed as a marauding villain in many European cultures, wolves are deities in Native American cosmologies and are a popular totem. Like the raven, which also appears in this painting, the wolf is a hero and creator. In some legends she is the sister to the Trickster, Coyote. The Quileute and the Makah of the Pacific Northwest ascribe the healing power of the wolf, and perform a wolf dance in the skin of the animal to cure the sick.
In the early Roman cult of Lupa or Feronia, the great she-wolf (also known as the Mother of Wolves) was the divine midwife and matriarch of the ancestral spirits. She was honored in an annual festival of the she-wolf and was invoked in purification rituals. In the Roman legend of Romulus and Remus, a wolf nurses two heroes and restores their strength.
Elephant Symbology: strength, prosperity, fertility, wisdom
The elephant is rich in lore and legend, with the white elephant being the most sacred. Elephants are venerated in India and southeast Asia, where they are a symbol of royalty and fertility. Ganesha, the Hindu god of wisdom, prudence, and learning, is usually depicted having the body of a man and the head of an elephant. Elephants are tribal in nature, they are a Matriarchal society with the largest part of the herd being led by the eldest females. The males usually travel separately from the rest of the herd with the exception being the baby males. They stay with the females until they’re old enough to join the males in their separate group.
Panther Symbology: magic, darkness, death
Like other large cats, the panther represents ferocity and courage. The black panther is a particularly mystical symbol that has represented dark energies and rebirth. Native American tribes of North, South, and Central America considered the black panther to wield powerful magic; Egyptian rituals involved the wearing of a panther tail about the waist or neck, which brought strength to its wearers; and the Kayans of Borneo feared the soul of the black panther as much as the beast’s corporeal form. The underlying energy of the black panther is that of the sacred feminine and the Void.
Horse Symbology: friendship, wisdom, strength
The horse is a kind, intelligent beast that has frequently been associated with propitious events. In the Chinese zodiac, horse people are friendly, adventurous, and passionate. In Greek mythology, the winged horse Pegasus was the source of inspiration and poetry.
Horses have also been associated with sexuality or fertility. In the Hindu Ramayana, the king Dasa-ratha asks the gods to grant him a son and, to please them, sets a magnificent horse free for one year. Upon the horse’s return, Dasa-ratha receives word that he will have four sons, all of whom become the incarnation of the god Vishnu, the preserver of life on earth.
The horse in the painting, entitled Age of the Avatar, recalls the magnificent horse of Ramayana. The Hindu word avatara (descent to earth) refers to Vishnu’s ability to assume an earthly form.

Divine Guidance: Intikhana ~ Diamond Tiger of the Black Moon
Intikhana: Child of the Light
There is a divine light that does not cast a shadow. Nor does it cast judgment, even though it reveals truth – a truth that is sometimes hard to acknowledge and requires that we change our ways. True divine light is healing, it is unifying, it brings hope and illuminates the way. Other sorts of light may appear stunningly bright, yet, in effect, create separation and increase ego. You can recognize genuine divine presence not by how dazzling it may appear at first, but by what your devotion to that divine light evokes in your heart and your world.
Trust your feeling over appearances. Move away from influences that create fear, negativity or doubt in you. Reach out for that which uplifts your heart. Spiritual protection is being offered. Refuse to be dazzled by ego masquerading as something spiritual. Through your prayers and efforts, spiritual light has been accumulating on the inner planes, even though you may not sense that consciously as yet. There will be an intersection of events and circumstances in your physical world through which that light shall pour forth and manifest itself as grace. Continue with your spiritual devotion. There is something truly good to come of it.
Diamond Tiger: Second Chances Bring Success
Your soul is on the diamond path of spiritual growth. You may feel pressured by life at times, but at a higher level, those challenges are helping you realize your true strength of character. You have the personal will, strength and physical power that you need for success, no matter what has happened in the past. You are developing your spirit, passion and vitality to fight like a tigress defending her cubs. Believe in yourself. There is great dignity and strength in your heart.
Do not judge anything or anyone, including yourself and what you believe is possible, based on the past. Reclaim and redirect your energy according to what matters most to you. You are stronger that you may realize. The return of strength after a challenge, second chances for success and a brilliant intuition or insight that ends a long-lasting cycle of repeated struggle are indicated. A prophecy is given for empowered leadership, spiritual attainment and success after previous failure, which leads to an irreversible and positive outcome.
The struggles of your past were needed in order to grown. Yet now, having fulfilled their spiritual usefulness, they are no longer required. If you continue to interpret your life experiences through the filter of old beliefs and past happenings, you will lose the truth of what is taking place at a deeper level. You are being reformed, renewed, reborn, into a stronger, clearer, truer version of yourself. The past was needed to get you here, but it is no longer to be seen as something that defines you.

Swan Symbology: transformation, loss of innocence, beauty
This painting of a swan maiden represents a common motif found in the mythologies and folktales of many cultures around the globe – from Native American to Slavic. Although the story varies from place to place, the basic plot is the same; a young man finds the feathered robe or skin of a swan maiden – a goddess-like creature – which she has temporarily shed to assume a human form. Although the youth attempts to hide the feathers from the maiden, which allow him to possess her, the swan finds its feather, assumes its animal form, and leaves the youth. The lost swan thus symbolizes the departure of youthful innocence and the passage to maturity. In some version of the story, the swan dies. In Greek mythology the “swan song” is the beautiful song sung by the swan just before death.
Dolphin Symbology: life, feminine energy, sexuality
The dolphin is associated with feminine energies and the primordial waters of life; the word derives from the Greek delphinos or womb. Demeter, the Greek goddess of fertility, was represented by the dolphin in her role as mistress of the sea.
In the painting, the life-giving and feminine energy themes are emphasized by both the swimming dolphins that frame the woman’s face and the infant emerging from a womblike nautilus shell.
